DE Starter Kits - Source-Available Evaluation Licence, version 1.0

Copyright (c) 2026 the owner of the htiwari-dev/de-starter-kits repository.
All rights reserved.

This licence covers the code, SQL, templates, scripts, configuration, and
documentation in this repository and in edition bundles built from it
(together, the "Kit"). It does not cover third-party software or data; see
NOTICE.

In this licence, "Production use" means using the Kit, or work derived from
it, to process live business data, to feed reports, dashboards, or systems
that people rely on for business decisions or operations, or to run any
scheduled or operational workload. Evaluation, learning, and non-production
testing on sample, synthetic, or public data are not Production use.

1. Evaluation grant. If you received the Kit from the copyright holder or with
the copyright holder's permission, you may, free of charge, read, install,
run, and modify the Kit for internal evaluation, learning, and
non-production testing in development environments you control.

2. What needs a separate licence. The grant in section 1 does not permit you
to: put the Kit, or work derived from it, into Production use; use it to
deliver services or project code to a client; redistribute, publish, sell,
or sublicense it, modified or not; or redistribute, resell, or offer as a
product a kit or template that is derived from the Kit. These uses require
a separate written licence from the copyright holder. Nothing in this
licence stops you from building your own work that does not copy or derive
   from the Kit.

3. Notices. Keep this LICENSE and the NOTICE file with any copy you are
   permitted to make.

4. Third-party components and data. Open-source dependencies installed from
each edition's requirements file are not part of the Kit and stay under
their own licences. The BigQuery edition queries Google's public dataset
`bigquery-public-data.thelook_ecommerce` in place; that dataset is not
included in, or licensed by, the Kit. Your use of it is subject to your
agreement with Google Cloud and to any terms stated on the dataset's own
Google Cloud Marketplace listing. The copyright holder has not reviewed
   those listing terms (see docs/decisions/0001-license-and-data-terms.md);
you must review them yourself before relying on or sharing the data or
   results derived from it.

5. No warranty. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE KIT IS PROVIDED
"AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING
MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Nothing in this licence excludes, restricts, or modifies any guarantee,
right, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the
Australian Consumer Law. You are responsible for your cloud costs,
   credentials, access controls, and data.

6. Limitation of liability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the
copyright holder is not liable for any claim, damages, or other liability
arising from the Kit or its use. Where a law (including the Australian
Consumer Law) does not allow liability to be excluded, liability is limited,
to the maximum extent permitted by law and at the copyright holder's
option, to resupplying the Kit or paying the cost of having it resupplied.

7. Termination. Your rights end automatically if you breach this licence.
When they end, you must stop using the Kit and delete or destroy all
copies of the Kit, and of work derived from it, in your possession or
control. Sections 4 to 8 survive termination.

8. Governing law. This licence is governed by the laws of
[New South Wales, Australia - owner to confirm], and you submit to the
non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that place.

Support is best effort with no service level; see SUPPORT.md. Report security
problems as described in SECURITY.md. The reasons for this licence, and how to
change it, are recorded in docs/decisions/0001-license-and-data-terms.md.
